This is the sound of a drill rig operating in a fracking field near tioga, north dakota. I believe a large electric motor is spinning the drill bit. You can hear it shut down near the end of this short sound file.

The beach at aldeburgh is made of pebbles so you can hear little of that as i walk around. You can the crashing of the waves against the pebbles and that fizzing noise as the sound dies down and the water recedes from the beach. This was recorded using a zoom h2n in 16-bit. Wav format.

This is the clock tower at the university of north texas striking six p. M.

Location: charlotte douglas international airporttime: april 2015. A strong storm hit charlotte, north carolina, and flights got delayed or canceled. The gates got crowded and people were restless. Lots of airline announcements, people talking on their cell phones, airport electric cart beeps, voices in english and a few words here and there in spanish, etc. Don't remember if this was recorded using the zoom h1 or h5 with the xyh-5 x/y microphone capsule.

It was a very cold and windy day when i visited the mile high swinging bridge at the top of grandfather mountain. Unfortunately, i did not have a windscreen, so there is a bit of noise in the recording of the "singing" bridge. The reason i say "singing" is that the high winds were blowing through the 228-foot long suspension bridge bars making a haunting sort of song. It is considered the highest suspension footbridge in north america at just over a mile high.

Wind shield was used but a little bit of wind exists on the recording with a hpf used to minimise rumble.

Thunderstorm, late night with rain falling on a quiet urban neighborhood side street of a large u. S. City. 4:30. The rain decreases over the recording. Good bits of distant thunder. Distant sirens in the last half of the recording. Some distant traffic noise, and a couple of cars passing close. I didn't notice until afterwards that i had the recorder set in mp3 format. Given another chance i'd redo as a 48/24 wav, but it doesn't rain all that often here, and the quality on this recording is still very good, 192kbps. Zoom h4n - mp3 - 44. 1/16.

I'm trying to create a sound that resembles captain america's shield from the marvel movies. I took a recording of a metal garbage can ringing and brought it into iris 2. I cut the attack from the envelope and added light amplitude sine wave modulation. I also set a short decay. I also layered a clean sine wave underneath the recording sample in order to give the recording more umph and body when it resonates. This is the base of captain america's shield. Layer this with metal impacts and sub sonic stings and you're all set. Please post a link if you use this file. I'm excited to see what you can do with this!. Jemaa el-fnaa is one of the biggest squares in africa, and is one of the most vibrant places i have ever visited. Each time of day brings a very different energy, and one will find snake charmers, musicians, dancers and stands selling pretty anything you could think of. Although busy during the day, jemaa el-fna is swarmed with people at night and can quickly become overwhelming. This recording is from february, 2020, using a tascam dr-05x.
